Nobody prepared me for what I was going to see and feel that afternoon. It was the first time I entered the center of Kabanga and although I had read reports, seen photographs and heard stories, reality always makes fun of theory.
And I do not mean the suffering of those children and families. I mean the smile, the ability to enjoy, the natural solidarity, the sincere embrace they give to everyone, regardless of whether everyone has forgotten to embrace them.
Fortunately, "everybody" was an unfair generalization, as there were many people firmly committed to investing their talent and time in projects for the development of Kabanga society and most importantly, to make a great team of wills that will make it possible to take better advantage of the resources. There is no envy, no competition.
Thanks to all the NGOs that have wanted to join this challenge. I feel very fortunate to meet them and I have the feeling that we are going to create something important that will mark many lives.
